As the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee began considering Sonia Sotomayor's nomination to the Supreme Court last week, the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission announced its opposition, saying she is an "unpredictable wildcard" who will work to "redefine the law." How do you feel about President Obama's nominee to the highest court in the land? Do you think she will "redefine the law"? Do you think she judges from the bench with a bias spirit? How do you feel about her views on abortion? Go ahead, leave your comments.
I could speak volumes about this issue (especially with the entire minority aspect coming into play). But to keep it short, I agree; I would NOT want to see her become the next Supreme Court Judge. My biggest issue is not the race card, it is the abortion issue. I cannot support ending an unborn child's life. As Christians we are to be counter-cultural, not anti-cultural. An Anti-cultural person sits at home, doesn't vote, and doesn't voice their opinion (defend their faith). A counter-cultural person votes and voices their opinion. The key, defend our faith with LOVE.
